How can I safely care for my candle?
Candle care is so important to avoid any injuries/burns, and fires. Please adhere to these rules:
• Always burn your candle within sight. do not burn the candle for longer than 4 hours at a time.
• Keep burning candles away from flammable materials, children and pets.
• Do not light on or near any objects that can catch fire, and do not place on or near other heat sources.
• Do not place your candle in a draft filled area such as a hallway, near a window or by a fireplace.
• When lighting your candle for the first time, burn for at least 2/3 hours (or until full melt pool) to prevent tunnelling in the future!
• Always trim your wick to 3mm-5mm before each use.

In addition, each candle has a safety sticker on the bottom of the tin as well as a candle care card in our packaging.
Why does my candle look imperfect / bumpy / holes in it?
Although it may look strange, this is completely natural for coconut soy wax and does not affect the performance of the candle. This is actually a great way to know your candle is not made from any harmful ingredients! All natural baby!
How can I stop my candle from tunnelling?
Your candle can tunnel if you extinguish the flame before its optimal burn time, leaving a ‘tunnel’ around the outside. This leftover wax means your candle won’t achieve its maximum burn potential and can become difficult to light later on if not dealt with.
To reduce this risk, ensure you are burning your candle until the entire top layer is liquid wax, usually after a few hours.
However, if you happen to tunnel your candle don’t worry! Create a foil wrap around the sides and top of the tin, then poke a hole to light the wick. This will create an oven inside the candle for the edges to melt down. Keep the candle within eye sight at all times and when removing be careful as the foil will be hot!

I am new to wood wicks and would love to know more!
Here is a little rundown of why we love wood wicks so much and we hope you will too!
Wood wicks can be fairly intimidating to begin with but they operate just like any cotton wick. However ours are naturally sourced FSC approved, compared to many cotton wicks which are often coated with harmful chemicals.
When a wood wick is lit it creates a soothing crackling noise just like that of a fireplace. They produce a stronger scent throw without being overwhelming.
Lighting a wood wick is simple, use a regular match or lighter on the edge of the wick and watch it catch.
If you cut your wood wick too short, don’t worry! Either wipe off the melted excess wax with a towel or scrap off some of the wax around the wood and trying lighting again. The wick should be able 4- 5mm before each burn.
My wood wick candle keeps going out.
Wooden wicks can take more care and patience than traditional cotton wicks, however once you buy a wooden wick candle you'll never turn back!
On the first burn, allow the wax to fully melt to the edge of the can, both on the first burn and consecutive ones! (2-3 hours max) do this by breaking off the TOP black bits of the wick with your fingers, or use nail clippers to shorten the wick to be about 3-5mm. The shorter height allows the wax to soak up the wick to feed the flame properly.
Please note: We recommend burning your candle within 6 months of date of purchase for best results.
